My Own Garage Sale!

For the last several years, I've had a garage sale of my own on Memorial Day weekend--a tradition of sorts, I guess. Sometimes the weather cooperates and sometimes it doesn't. Well, this year it did~it was glorious! My sale was Saturday and Monday as I had to work at The Red Rooster on Sunday. Saturday started out quite busy, followed by few quiet hours and then a good finish to the day!! Here are some pics of the "junk" I was trying to unload! I kinda like these curtain rod finials~will probably save these for future projects!

~~dirty old bottles and beaded fruit-not real old, but kitschy!!

Thinning out my cookie jar collection...sold 3!!

I set up a tent outside and had a cute little gardeny area! Stuff out here sold right away!!

Table and 2 chairs--SOLD!

Screens and wicker rocker--SOLD!

The dresser, window, egg basket--SOLD

All chairs--SOLD! I think the little cart would look adorable filled with red geraniums! Took it to the store and if I don't sell it in the next couple weeks, I'll bring it home and do just that!!

Most of this stuff I've had for awhile or it has some issue or needs work and I'm just too lazy or busy to deal with it! I really cleaned out my little storage shed and my storage unit too!! YAAAAY~it's a great feeling! Plus, sad to say, now I have room to go buy more!!!

It really is alot of work having these sales, but the purging feels so good!!!

33 Years and a Thank You!!!

33 years ago today I married my high school sweetheart!! Looking at our wedding photo, we looked so YOUNG!! Actually, we were-I was 19 and he was almost 21!! These days, we'd kill our kids if they got married that young! But we were so much more grown up then,we worked hard and knew what we wanted. I loved him then and love him so much more now. Our life has come full circle with the recent birth of our grandson and there isn't anything I would change. (except for the fact that I was so thin and didn't have to color my hair!!) And then secondly, I have to send out a big, sweet THANK YOU!! to Linda from Itsy Bits and Pieces! She recently bought some funnels from me and when she sent me my payment~she included some great ephemera!!!! Thanks so much , Linda~I love all of it and I hope you like your package as well!!
This blogging thing has opened up such a wonderful world of friendship to me and each day I discover new blogs and aquire new friends!! This is such a small world isn't it???

I got a sweet comment back from the gal who owns the business sadie n stella that I posted about last!! I was so excited to read that and I'm glad I could make her day by posting about her Wonderful booth!!!!! Truly, when I spotted her stuff I said "Now this is more like it"!!! It was the perfect end to a great day!!

My husband has been so busy making hay this past week, but I'm hoping he can take a little break tonight and go get an ice cream treat with me! After 33 years, it doesn't take much to make me happy!!!!

My Favorite Booth at Pardeeville Antique Mall

At a recent visit to one of my favorite malls in Pardeeville, WI~ I fell in love with one booth in particular. It was full of shabby pretties, gorgeous ironstone and transferware~~~ Lots of eye candy to behold!!I love Ironstone~~who doesn't??? I love this display in these cubbies!

My second love~transferware!!
A breath of fresh air in a rather primitive mall!

Fun and games!

Love all this!

Love the chicken wire on the old door to display vintage photos!

This booth had pretty business cards on display with the name "Sadie "N Stella"! How cute is that?!? I don't think it was a shop, just the name this particular dealer went by! I couldn't take my eyes off of it all~~~and meanwhile, my husband was getting antsy!!
Oh well, I can always go back by myself someday for another look!*!*!

Until next time.....

Weekend Whites!!!

My husband & I spent this past weekend at our lake cottage, which was thoroughly enjoyable and very relaxing!! But after we got all our work done with the yard and getting the boat in and all cleaned up, we decided to go for a drive on Sunday afternoon. My hubs was such a sweetie and took me to one of my favorite antique malls about 20 minutes from our cottage! For you "locals" this mall is located in a cute little town called Pardeeville! This mall was recently taken over by new owners and they have turned it into a very appealing, well-kept mall with great dealers!! I chose this mall because they have lots of vintage hunting and fishing stuff and thought my hubs would find a few interesting things~~He was such a trooper!! He was kinda excited when he found a vintage hand-held pinball game that he had as a kid, so I bought it for him as a reward for being so patient with me!!! Actually these 2 pieces of ironstone were found at my friend Joann's sale and I thought I'd share some up-close pics of these beauties! I found the baby shoes at the mall though and they have such a sweet, scuffed-up patina!

Even though this tureen is missing it's cover, I still love it and think it will be awesome to change it up with seasonal displays! I envision it full of vintage Christmas ornaments~

These sweet pieces came from the mall and the green transferware was found in my favorite booth!!! I will be posting about this gorgeous booth real soon!!
Most of the booths there were quite primitive & lodgey, so this booth was very refreshing!

We've been looking for old lures to do a shadow box display for our cottage and picked up this lot. Some to keep and some to sell!

As always~I'm drawn to pottery and you can never have enough frogs!!

I'm linking up with Kathleen of Faded Charm for White Wednesday and chose my favorite whites from this past weekend's treasure hunts!!
Happy White Wednesday & thanks for stopping by!!

My Friend's Amazing Sale!!

My friend, Joann is having a huge yard sale next weekend and was nice enough to let me in for a "pre-buy"!! I met her about 5 years ago at one of her sales and we've been friends ever since! She and her husband are retired and do flea markets and these sales--she's a little whirlwind with tons of energy!! When I drove in her driveway, I was just amazed at the vast amount of stuff she has out waiting to display for her sale!!

These next couple pics were taken in her yard around some of her awesome out-buildings! I just love this adorable little barn with the metal chickens and the pigeon nester above the door!!

This is the side of her garage where her sale is being held!! She has such an eye for display~you should see the inside of her house!!! After getting to know her better, I finally got an invitation to view her house--and it is an amazing primitive dream with some of the best antique collections I've ever seen. She and her husband have been collecting for years!

Here are some of the things that came home with me....

This picture doesn't do it justice-but this is the cutest, shabbiest dental cabinet I've ever found!!

This is my pile!!!

The adorable little wheelbarrow has the name "Butch" painted on the side!

The black iron chairs need new seats~but I think they will be amazing! I think I'll use some of the barkcloth I bought at the flea market last Sunday!

Beautiful ironstone pieces and a little peek of the architectural fragment I snatched up!

This little vintage statue came home with me too! I just LOVE her and don't care one bit that the goose's neck is broken! Her patina is just perfect!!

...and you know I've been searching for one of these....

~ finally, my own dress-form. I wanna "junk" it up a little bit more!!

If any of you are able to get to the Hartford, WI area next Thurs, Fri. and Sat. -You seriously should try to get to Joann's sale!! It will exceed your expectations! Let me know if you need directions!!

Elkhorn Rummage Sale

It's a gray, rainy day here and so I thought I'd catch up on some blogging. Stopping in to see what everyone else is up to and taking a moment to share some new stuff I found too. On the way home from the flea market Sunday, I stumbled on a great sale! I found some awesome stuff like this wonderful old Underwood typewriter in very good condition!
These bottles are huge and awesome!! They stand 12 and 14 inches tall and I LOVE them!
I wonder what they held?

Got this wicker covered bottle too!

I took this picture this morning and think that even in the rain these pansies are stunning!!
My daughter and I picked up all our flowers yesterday, eager to plant them and of course it's rainy today!
Showing what I did with my little green shelf that I got at the flea mkt. the other day.

We had our deck pressure washed and sealed early this week and I'm itchin' to get it all gussied up again!! Darn this rain!

Also got these lovely windows at that sale too~not sure what these are calling me to do with them yet~maybe paint the glass with chalkboard paint or save them for a little greenhouse~hmmmm???

Off to a sale at a friend of mine. She is the gal who has all the picnic tins she wants to get rid of!! Lucky me!!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. We are headed off to our lake cottage tomorrow and Sunday~supposed to get HOT here by Sunday!!

Just a quick look at some pretty and fun whites for you on this White Wednesday with Faded Charm Lovely vintage rosary

at the Elkhorn flea. I think this would make a great display case for some shabby littles.
They don't have much in common, but I thought I'd share them with you anyway!
