LAUNDRY ROOM VIGNETTES

WHILE CLEANING AND DUSTING (I HATE DRYER LINT!) IN MY LAUNDRY ROOM THIS MORNING, I DECIDED TO SNAP SOME PICTURES OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE VIGNETTES IN MY HOME~~~

Having a sweet little vignette like this in my laundry room makes the task a little more pleasant! Although with my "empty nest" I don't have near as much wash as I used to like back in the day when my kids wore stuff once and threw it in the wash!! Now they all do their own and I'll bet they've changed that habit!! Hope you're having a good Wednesday!

MY FAVORITE BLOGS & WHY I LOVE THEM!

I have been blogging now for about 4 months. Still a novice for sure, but have learned a few tricks and been inspired by those who have been doing this for years instead of months! I wish I had more hours in my day to visit more blogs and post more often. Of those that I have found and am now following, there are a handful that have really become my faves!!

Best Blog Personaltiy: This award goes to Anne of http://www.fionaandtwig.blogspot.com I love reading Anne's posts!! She has a great sense of humor and I think she would be a hoot to hang around with!! She always makes me smile!

Best vignettes/collections: This award goes to my friend Jeanine of http://www.chippyshabby.blogspot.com/ Her taste in all things chippy is impeccable and her vignettes are exquisite!! She was the one who first gave me the push to start my blog and I thank her for being my mentor!!

Blogs of people I'd most like to meet: There are two loyal blog "friends" who have been very faithful in supporting me with their sweet words of encouragement and sincere kindness in their comments. So this award goes to Linda at http://www.itsy-bits-and-pieces.blogspot.com/ and Debra of http://www.commonground-debrasvintagedesigns.blogspot.com/. Linda also has a wonderful, fun etsy shop and is very talented and creative! Debra has a home that I could just move right into and is a very spiritual, sweet lady!! Maybe a trip to Minnesota and Missouri will be in my future someday!!!

I recently purchased some things from her Etsy and can't wait to get them.

RECENT FINDS!

Just a few quick pics of some of the great stuff I've picked up lately!

These 2 chairs are perfectly chippy!! There is a cute little bench that goes with this set that I forgot to get a picture of too--but it's just as chippy and cute!!!

Will be giving these 2 chairs a coat of white I think! Won't they be cute with a little table in between? Now I just gotta find one!! That's our dog goin' potty in the background!!! Ooops- I forgot he was out there!!!!!!

These vintage egg boxes have the greatest patina and color! I love the mustard one!!! It may stay with me for a little while!!

Cute little grungy drop leaf table and a homemade wheelbarrow made for me by my handy guy Dan!

Isn't this long bench amazing?? It's just over 9 feet long and is the most wonderful shade of green! I can just picture it on someone's porch with pots of red geraniums!! Now I just gotta figure out how to get it to the store!!

MY OWN WHITE WEDNESDAY!

I decided to take a few pics of some of my favorite WHITE things on this sunny, spring day!!

OUR LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN

This past Sunday my hubs and I spent the greater part of the day doing yardwork at our cottage that we bought early last summer. We have made so many memories there in this past year and hope to own it for many more years to come. This picture was taken last summer of my husband doing what he loves best...fishin' off our pier. We both work very hard on our farm and this is our reward. We love to come here to unwind and have family get-togethers. Let me take you on a little tour~~~

Our lake frontage faces west and we have enjoyed some gorgeous sunsets!!!!

The two bedrooms are about the same size. They both have a woodsy, rustic feel.

This is the one we consider the master because it has a patio door that leads outside.

All the furniture was included with the sale. It's definitely not my style, but it's in really good condition and perfect for our family. Now for the bad news....My husband made it very clear that he doesn't want any OLD JUNK to "mess up" his cottage!!!! So I'm trying to live with that and respect his wishes, much to my dismay. But I have gotten him to agree to old fishing stuff and that is OK with him. I'm currently looking for old lures.

This picture is rather dark, but when you first walk in the front door, you can see clear to the other end of the living room through the double patio doors out to the lake...this was the thing that sold us almost at once. It was love at first sight!!!

These old decoys were left for us by the previous owner.

This last winter felt so long waiting with anticipation for spring to come so we could come here again. We have to close it up and drain all the water pipes in the fall. Now it's ready for another season of relaxation, cook-outs, boat rides, fishing and family togetherness~~~We just love it!!!!

FINALLY--SOME JUNKIN' !!

With being tied up with helping my daughter and her new baby and then getting another cold/flu bug--I haven't had a chance to get out to look for junk!!

I finally made it to a couple sales on Friday and take pics of some other recent finds too!

It feels good to get out to find some stuff once and get back into Blogging again!!!

IT'S A BOY!!!!

I'd like to introduce you to the newest member of our family...my new baby grandson Jackson. He was born on April 2nd (Good Friday) at 8:42 am. He weighed in at 8 lbs. 3 ozs. and might I add that he is just PERFECT!!!!!!!

Here he is modeling his Easter outfit complete with bunny ears and fuzzy footies!!! I told my daughter, his mama, that he couldn't possibly get any cuter!!!

His grandma has been a blubbering, emotional mess since the second I laid eyes on him. I am totally, completely in love!!!!!

My daughter's pregnancy had some complications from the get go. She also had 2 miscarriages last year--very heartbreaking for her! So we are so very aware of the grace and mercy of our Almighty God!!!! Our precious little Easter miracle!!!
