I've had the good fortune to have found some wonderful vintage lamps at some of the sales I've been to lately. I especially love the pottery-style lamps like this beautiful green one.
The detail is truly lovely! I picked up this "naked" shade and think it's kinda fun! I probably will cover it with something eventually...I've seem them done with vintage lace and think that may be the way to go!
Such a deep, rich green!!
I LOVE this one-curvy and sweet! It's probably my most favorite that I've ever found!!

White Dresses!
I was lucky enough to find some beautiful vintage clothing at one of the last sales I went to. A lovely nightgown and a gauzy, cotton dress and a few baby dresses.
I slipped this nightgown on my dressform and I like it "dressed" almost as much as "undressed"!! This nightie is actually a soft peachy, pink~~very feminine!

I don't know if this is a dress~probably a nightgown as well, but it is so gauzy and pretty!

(too bad I didn't iron it first!)
~soft and cool on a hot summer night~
This baby gown is so sweet~ love all the little pleats and gathers~
Made by some mamma with love!
Darling little baby dress and matching slip for underneath!
I have a weakness for children's things~they speak to me of innocence and sweetness!
I'm linking up with Kathleen at Faded Charm for White Wednesday again...check out all the others sharing their special whites!!

3 Great Sales!
I was lucky enough to find 3 great sales over the last few days!! The first one was on Thursday at a home that I've been to several times in years past. She always has good stuff~been a collector for many years! I picked up these vintage alarm clocks and the little old brush.
Gorgeous floral pictures, pitcher with grapes, and a pair of sweet little green vases! The big Mc coy vase was actually found at a sale a while ago by my youngest daughter, Kim~~I think I got her trained!!!
A nice selection of granite ware, tin molds and cookie cutters. I also got some awesome, huge wire whisks that I featured in my Black Friday post.

This old photo album is a little worn on the outside, but it still has it's working clasp...
and the inside is still perfectly beautiful!!
Then on Friday, while I was driving to take some things into the Red Rooster, I literally slammed on my brakes when I saw this sign......
It wasn't your usual farm sale with galvanized stuff, old chairs and other junk. But she had alot of cool stuff inside a cute little out-building of sorts.
When I walked up this is what greeted me~~~
and I decided it needed to come home with me!
She had alot of collections too that she was thinning, such as linens, crocheted doilies and potholders, sewing stuff, ephemera, and tons of old photographs and cabinet cards.
These are the ones that came home with me!!

I also bought these hat stands and ironstone pitchers.

The last sale was this morning... and I walked away with some glassware, pretty china pieces and these amazing pieces of slate!!!
They will be incredible chalkboards in someone's kitchen or office space~~~LOVE THEM!!!

Tarnished Black!
I love the look of things that have naturally evolved from their original finish into the tarnished, darkened patina of age! I have a few pieces of old silver that I have no intention of polishing~~ I love them just the way they are!
Like this sweet little cup, perhaps belonged to a child long ago.....
and the sugar bowl missing it's mate...I think more lovely blackend than shiny! I think they call this "poor man's silver"!
So much more charm with the look of everyday use!
I went to a great sale this morning and found these amazing whisks!!! A little hard to tell but they are huge, and I love their look of age!
Found all these little tin items too~~~aged to perfection!
Showing off my tarnished blacks with the French Cupboard for Vintage Black Friday! Check out all the others sharing in the fun and celebrating the love of black!

Whites with a Little Color!
I'm linking up with Kathleen of Faded Charm for White Wednesday again and thought I'd share some of my favorite not-so-whites! This gorgeous vintage photograph is from my bedroom. It reminds me of my mother who always had the most beautiful flower gardens! I like to pretend this is me and her in this photo!
This dress form is for sale in my room at The Red Rooster! I attached a picture that I cut out of Porch magazine to give people an idea of how they can "decorate" it!
This is one of my favorite pieces of transferware~~I love the barely there color on white!!

My Own Garage Sale!
For the last several years, I've had a garage sale of my own on Memorial Day weekend--a tradition of sorts, I guess. Sometimes the weather cooperates and sometimes it doesn't. Well, this year it did~it was glorious! My sale was Saturday and Monday as I had to work at The Red Rooster on Sunday. Saturday started out quite busy, followed by few quiet hours and then a good finish to the day!! Here are some pics of the "junk" I was trying to unload!
I kinda like these curtain rod finials~will probably save these for future projects!

~~dirty old bottles and beaded fruit-not real old, but kitschy!!
Thinning out my cookie jar collection...sold 3!!

I set up a tent outside and had a cute little gardeny area! Stuff out here sold right away!!
Table and 2 chairs--SOLD!

Screens and wicker rocker--SOLD!
The dresser, window, egg basket--SOLD
All chairs--SOLD! I think the little cart would look adorable filled with red geraniums! Took it to the store and if I don't sell it in the next couple weeks, I'll bring it home and do just that!!
Most of this stuff I've had for awhile or it has some issue or needs work and I'm just too lazy or busy to deal with it! I really cleaned out my little storage shed and my storage unit too!! YAAAAY~it's a great feeling! Plus, sad to say, now I have room to go buy more!!!
It really is alot of work having these sales, but the purging feels so good!!!

33 Years and a Thank You!!!
33 years ago today I married my high school sweetheart!! Looking at our wedding photo, we looked so YOUNG!! Actually, we were-I was 19 and he was almost 21!! These days, we'd kill our kids if they got married that young! But we were so much more grown up then,we worked hard and knew what we wanted. I loved him then and love him so much more now. Our life has come full circle with the recent birth of our grandson and there isn't anything I would change. (except for the fact that I was so thin and didn't have to color my hair!!)
And then secondly, I have to send out a big, sweet THANK YOU!! to Linda from Itsy Bits and Pieces! She recently bought some funnels from me and when she sent me my payment~she included some great ephemera!!!! Thanks so much , Linda~I love all of it and I hope you like your package as well!!
This blogging thing has opened up such a wonderful world of friendship to me and each day I discover new blogs and aquire new friends!! This is such a small world isn't it???
I got a sweet comment back from the gal who owns the business sadie n stella that I posted about last!! I was so excited to read that and I'm glad I could make her day by posting about her Wonderful booth!!!!! Truly, when I spotted her stuff I said "Now this is more like it"!!! It was the perfect end to a great day!!
My husband has been so busy making hay this past week, but I'm hoping he can take a little break tonight and go get an ice cream treat with me! After 33 years, it doesn't take much to make me happy!!!!
