Prayer Request for my friend

My mind and heart are very heavy today with thoughts and concerns for my dear friend, Linda. She is the owner of the Red Rooster in Plymouth, WI that I have been involved with for going on 11 years. She is receiving the gift of life in the form of a bone marrow transplant today ~ This store has been her "baby" for as many years and it is going to be a long time before she will be well enough to come around it again. She will be in the hospital for a month and then about 3 more in an isolation apartment. For fear of rejection and infections, she is not to be out in public for MANY months.
This will be very hard on her and her family, since she was the one who gave this wonderful store her special touch. We will do our best to help her husband and daughter with some of the displays etc. but she has pretty big shoes to fill!!!

So I would sincerely appreciate your prayers and good thoughts for her as she goes through this grueling, difficult journey back to good health.
She has become more than just a business acquaintence over these years, I am honored to say that she is also one of my best friends!!
Thanks for taking the time out of your busy days to think of her!
I also want to thank Jeanine fron Chippy Shabby for these pictures. I hope you don't mind that I stole them Jeanine!!

  4. I will certainly say a prayer or two or three. One of my best friends, my junking partner, went through that. Hers was done in Nebraska. It was pretty awful. Your friend won't want to see or talk to anyone for awhile after the transplant, but we'll believe for a speedy recovery.

My thoughts and prayers are with your friend and her family. You can follow Reid'a journey on my blog and if I can answer any questions you might have just ask.

  9. Prayers for Linda! Julie, I think you can be added to the bone marrow donor list when you give blood. Everyone - check it out and help someone like Linda with the gift of life if you can. I'm glad they found a match. Prayers that she does well. Hugs!

  10. I had heard through the pipeline she was struggling. My sister in law went through the same thing several years ago... and the best part is she is alive and thriving. My prayers and thoughts will be with her, and that she'll walk out into the light at the end of summer a new person.

  17. Julie...my neighbor received his stem cell transplant back in Oct. He's doing great now, although he has had a couple of minor set backs. I say minor..they were minor compare to what he had been through in the last 10 years. I will be happy and blessed to pray for your friend Linda and her family. She is so blessed to have you in her life. I plan on keeping up with her progress through your blog...please share with us from time to time.

And please encourage everyone to participate in the bone marrow donor program, the test is so simple. The paper work takes longer than the swabbing of the cheeks.
